The Recovery Wellness & Advocacy Society (RWAS) believes healing extends beyond the self.

Through a community-centered approach to wellness and recovery, we support individuals through drop-in programs, clinical counselling, and ongoing one-on-one support. Grounded in healing through knowledge, understanding, and deeper self-work, our programs are designed to help individuals uncover and address the root causes of their challenges — not simply the symptoms.

By offering informed, practical guidance and accessible tools, we empower individuals to better understand, process, and navigate their healing journey in ways that are meaningful, sustainable, and personal to them.

We foster recovery through connection to nature, supportive relationships, and a deep respect for the environment and communities that surround us.

A Whole-Person Healing Approach

Our program integrates both top-down and bottom-up healing methods:

  • Top-down approaches focus on thoughts, emotions, and understanding behavioural patterns.

  • Bottom-up approaches focus on the body and nervous system, helping individuals regulate stress, trauma responses, and emotional overwhelm.

Together, these approaches create a comprehensive and compassionate path toward long-term wellness and recovery
